Orin & Rosa Kidd
Orin and his wife, Rosa, came to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ in 1971. At that time, Orin was working with the United States Forest Service on the Mount Hood National Forest in Oregon. From the very outset of his new faith in Christ, Orin strong desire to serve the Lord cross-culturally. In order to prepare for cross-cultural ministry, Orin attended Prairie Bible College in Alberta, Canada, from 1972 to 1976.
In 1977, following graduation from Prairie and linguistic training at the University of Washington, Orin and his family left for Irian Jaya, Indonesia, (now West Papua) where they spent 22 years working with the Kimyal tribe in the Eastern Highlands. Orin spent most of those years in church planting, discipleship, and leadership development. He also served as the West Papua, Field Director from 1995-2000.
After returning to the States, Orin served in a new ministry arm of World Team called ChurchLink (2001-2005). The focus of that ministry was serving local churches through building relationships, casting vision and providing resources for strategic impact locally and globally among unreached people groups.
After 30 years with World Team, Orin and Rosa resigned from the Mission (2005), to begin a new ministry role as the Pastor of Global Outreach at Grace Bible Fellowship where he served as a staff Pastor for 11 years. During that time, he also served as an Adjunct Professor at Corban University for 5 years, teaching a mission class.
After Orin and Rosa’s return to the States in 2000, they continued to make yearly visits back to Papua, and in 2009 Rosa and her Kimyal translation team completed the Kimyal New Testament, which was dedicated in March 2010.
In 2016, Orin resigned from his staff position at GBF and Corban, so he and Rosa could give more time to the Kimyal tribe in West Papua. Orin and Rosa were married June 1968. They have two sons, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
