Statement of Faith

We believe that the Scripture of the “Old” and “New” Testaments were verbally inspired by God the Holy Spirit and are completely inerrant in the original writings and serve as the supreme and final authority in faith and life.   Rom. 5:4; II Tim. 3:16-17; II Pet. 1:20-21

We believe that there is one God eternally existent in three persons:  Father, Son and Holy Spirit;  co-equal in power and glory;  identical in their essential nature, attributes and perfection. Gen. 1:1;   Matt. 28:19; Jn. 1:1-4; Jn. 10:30; II Cor 13:14; Acts 5:3-4; Rev. 1:18

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, who existed eternally, was begotten of the Holy Spirit being  born of Mary a virgin and is true God and true man.   Is. 7:14; Matt. 1:18-23; Lk. 1:30-35; Jn. 1:1-4, 18; Phil. 2:5-8;  Heb. 4:15

We believe that Satan is a personality having once existed as a created angelic being with God but who rebelled against God becoming the arch-enemy of God and man; and although he was defeated by Christ’s death, burial and resurrection, he seeks to discredit and dishonor God and to deceive those whom God would have knowing his time is limited.  Gen. 3:15; Ezek. 28:11-19; Col. 2:15; Jude 1:6; Rev. 20:10.

We believe that man was created by God in His image but sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God;  and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and are totally depraved having no spark of divine life. Gen. 1:26-27; Rom. 3:10-23; Rom. 5:12; Eph. 2:1-3

We believe that fallen man is reconciled to God by the Lord Jesus Christ, who voluntarily died as a substitutionary sacrifice for our sins, and that by his blood our sin has been atoned and that his bodily resurrection is proof that His redemptive work is the only means of being justified and reconciled to God.  Jn. 14:6;  Acts 4:12;  Rom. 3:24-26;  Rom. 4:5;  Rom. 5:8;  I Cor. 15:1-6, 17; Col. 1:21-22;  I Pet. 1:18-21.

We believe that the resurrected Lord Jesus Christ has ascended into heaven bodily and presently intercedes for us as High Priest and Advocate before God.  Lk. 24:51; Acts 1:9-11; Heb. 4:16; I Jn 2:1-2

We believe that salvation is not of works but by grace alone, and that all who repent of their sin and  receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith as their savior are born from above by the Holy Spirit and the evidence of this birth will be seen in their lives.  Jn. 1:11-13, 3:3; Rom. 8:28-29; Eph. 2:8-9;  Gal. 5:16-25.

We believe that the Holy Spirit is that person of the Triune God, who convicts men of sin, indwells believers for a life of victory, and seals the believer unto the “day of redemption.” Jn. 14:16-17; Eph. 1:13-16;  Phil. 1:16;  II Tim. 1:12;  Jude 24-25.

We believe that all believers are baptized into the spiritual body of Christ called the church, and that Christ, who is in heaven, is the head of this spiritual body.  Acts 2:41-42;  I Cor. 12:13; Eph. 1:20-23; Col.1:18.

We believe in the imminent, personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ first to receive His own to Himself and then in premillenial glory to establish His Kingdom, and that this blessed hope has a vital bearing on our personal life and service.  Jn. 14:1-3; I Cor. 15:51-52; I Thes. 4:13-18; Titus 2:13-14;  Rev. 20:4-7.

We believe that there shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust, an everlasting blessedness of the saved and an everlasting conscious punishment of the lost.  Jn. 5:24-29; I Thes. 4:13-17; Titus 2:13-14; Rev. 20:11-15.

We believe that water baptism and the Lord’s Supper are the only ordinances of this church age and that they are symbolic of the believer’s death, burial, and resurrection with Christ and of Christ’s complete redemptive work.  Matt. 28:19;  Rom. 6:1-5;  I Cor 11:26.
